I have in the past seen news reports/documentaries on Burmese people being displaced on the borders of Thailand and various development projects taking place
I would like to find out more about this but am struggling at the moment to find out much on the net. Does anybody have any news/links or advice on any such projects?

Burma Issues - Internally Displaced People
Burmese 'troops' kill those people.
There was that young English guy about 6 or 7 years who was banged up for 'spying' in Burma, but then released.
He had a news conference when he got back home and, crying, he revealed that at least 10,000 people had been butchered in one 'army' exercise.

I read an article in the Bangkok Post recently that Sly Stallone was there for a filming of a Hollywood movie about the Burmese. He was aghast at what he saw.
Also, speaking from his personal experience, he was quoted as saying that the Burmese military were firing shots above his head and the movie crew's head as they were yelling, "Are you making a movie here or a documentary?!?"

I'm not allowed to post a link on ajarn.com yet, but if you google Burma News International you'll find the direct link to a comprehensive resource that should be bookmarked by anyone with an interest in our neighbouring country's struggle.
BNI's Vision, quoted from their website, reads: “To become a leading multimedia enterprise that presents a comprehensive picture of Burma and plays a role in promoting an understanding of the country.”
That's great Well. Thanks.
Interesting site. I checked it out and it seems legit. The host or server company that hosts this site is Slicehost LLC, based in the U.S.
Does anyone know where most of the hunger or violence is occurring or allegedly occurred?
On the BNI Update News main webpage there were many articles from 2006, not 2007.
I checked out the Mizzima and Kaladan News links and those articles too were from 2006.
^ Check this link out PT. There is some recent information on the happenings in Burma.

Here's a thread that might be easier to navigate, as it's just a .wmv audio/video file. It's of the UK, US and Chinese ambassadors discussing the whole Burma situation.
It's from Thai TV on October 8, 2007.
