I would like to pour you another one of whatever you're drinking. This one's on the house.

The charities sure do a good job publicizing donations.
It's all about making us feel guilty enough to donate ourselves.

I was taught to shut your trap if you've done something good and wait til someone notices it.

Re: Why Would We Ever Want to Say What We Did Charitable?
I like how Christ at Oh My Cod! was talking about their donations to charity in his area. I'd like to recognize him...both for that and for fine Atlantic cod. Just wanted to taste a bit of the West, rather than the Eastern Pacific delicacy. Yum!

why? I give to We Train, and the Pakret orphanage. Not in money, but in tons of used stuff, having twins that are growing like crazy is good. Bikes, roller blades, tons on diapers, underwear, undershirts, short, t shirts, shirts, long pants, dresses shoes. Games the kids have grown out of as well, books, so many things. We Train is adjacent to the village I live in so its cool. If Jimmy and Roselyn can fund the AIDS hospice, its the least I can do.

Re: Why Would We Ever Want to Say What We Did Charitable?
We may say why, because it may motivate others to give or let others know where to possibly give. I don't think it is necessary to say what we did. Doing for others is the actual reward, not what others may say.

Re: Why Would We Ever Want to Say What We Did Charitable?
There are two types of deviates on this planet ...
One type we know well, the other type is more mysterious ...
I call them the Holy deviates ..For example . A bloke who is walking through a play ground and See's some broken glass bottles on the ground and picks them up and throws in the trash with no thought of reward or recognition....

Re: Why Would We Ever Want to Say What We Did Charitable?
^The name for those type of blokes that do good deeds without being recognized is called altruism.
Altruism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If one performs an act beneficial to others with a view to gaining some personal benefit, then it isn't an altruistically motivated act.
