***UPDATE*****

Jamaal is under the care of a qualified psychiatrist in Atlanta now. She seems slow and careful to diagnose too quickly, but has administered some type of anti-psychotic medications.

He's recovered some portions of his memory and seems to believe that he did tell his original work-place that he needed to see a doctor and they just accused him of making up excuses for his poor behavior.

Also, they never (according to him) officially fired him, but rather just kicked him out onto the street.

Additionally, his family had sent an envelope to him 'special delivery' (care of his school) with cash in it. It was delivered, but Jamaal never received it.

They are currently considering legal action against the school.

I told them I would do anything in my power to help, should they decide to pursue that.

Had a friend who had a psychotic break here in Thailand. Thankfully, he had friends and family here who were able to get him the help he needed. It is not a stretch to ponder that this could happen to any of us.
