Does anyone have any experience with the Samaritans in Thailand (or a similar organisation)? I don't mean as in used their services, but as a volunteer.
I'm looking for a volunteer opportunity in this field (mental health) in BKK, to do alongside a teaching job.
I can't post any links, but their website is at samaritansthailand dot blogspot dot com. It's mostly in Thai, so I can't find out where they are based, how to sign up as a volunteer etc. I have read elsewhere though that they offer a 24 hour helpline in English.
Many thanks for any clues!
You're right. Here's the site: Samaritans
Here's a link in English that has the phone number: Samaritans of Thailand on AngloINFO Bangkok: your Bangkok information source, in Bangkok, Thailand
They are really very cool, very wonderful
Great work .. really informative .. and thanks a lot for sharing ..

You know the Samaritans are special in some ways as a friend once told me. There was an occasion my friend was in trouble with his life when the Samaritans helped him by offering food. For myself I had help after returning from Thailand from a organisation called Re-think. I was sent to a modern church after Re-think provided me with food. i was alarmed at the amount of food they offered me and will remember them for their help.
