Thread: Newbie bait, or what ?

I' ve been in and out of thailand for 3 years now, but its my first time to stay in
bkk for any period of time. anyway, seems like ive been screwed over by the
tourist biz thai vulture group, but ill let you experts decide. please keep in mind that these two biz i was sent to were from thai and i was in an incapacitated state...
i.e. the first was beer and felxiril. and the second was straight up rum booze intoxication.


the first occured in silom, the potpong area, where me friend and i stumbled on the pussy galore club, only to find out it was women and ladyboys. they coaxed us in and we ordered a beer, then after the beer was delivered, they literally demanded 300 baht a person for entrance fee. since i was fucked up and my mate was in hung-nam. i paid us both...WRONG. anyway. bad night but i thought i learned....ha...how wrong i was.


this past night i went to lady night at conception cm2.... ha what a joke. probebly 70-80 percent freelance hookers casing the place. since its free for them to come...why not, right. ?!?!?!


anyway, i danced with many of them and left the place. im 34, handsome, and fit..im not about to pay for pussy from a night club. sorry, but i gotta do that on my terms and night clubs is not it.

i was hungry and a taxi told me of a place that was "modrerate"....hmmm sorry fella i was drunk, should have said fuck off.

went and bought a sea bass and a large singa. when the bill came it was 1060. i tohught that was too damn much and demanded the toursit police to the manager (owner) ? he said he didnt have number and to wait. i waited, but i felt stupid and said "ok 1000 baht ok, i need baht for taxi, for which he acted dispointed but """""relunctently""" said ok". i left there feeling really cheated, b/c i know thailand and a meal for one person should not cost so much...but maybe so since im in bkk and im drunk, like i am now posting this shit..hehe.

anyway, any of you bkk experts please reply and say something like " you were fuck*d" or " naaa, that the goiung rate for sea bass and a big beer". whatever is ok.


plz dont flame the spelling or the lingo or what the fuck ever b/c im drunk and pissed, AMD pissed off...haha, but not too much now since i know this group of folks WILLL reply b./c ive been reading youir replies for like 2 months now...hehe.


SOOOOOO. laughg at me for drunken stupidity or tell me ...its ok man...thats the going rate for the meal....


but honestly i feel the former is true, b/c he didnt want to call the cops....he left it to me for which i could nt.... hehe maybe i should have ran....

good post man. i hope this fleshes out some issues for other newbies to read.

id say you got shafted on the fish and beer. theres no way that costs 1000baht. you didnt pay up front? - or see a menu- why was it you were surprised with the bill? maybe you were afraid to ask, not wanting to sound too 'money interested'....that happens to tourists as they dont want to ask in advance out of bedazzlement of the culture among others.

as far as your patpong trip went. you probably appeared very drunk and of course they're gonna take advantage of you. holy shit man- they're hookers! they arent from the rotary club and are just really well-intentioned people trying to make a buck. the more they play people, the better they do. accept that as a lesson and call it that. you may not be a good drunk- thought of that? might be loud, obnoxious- and in a face culture like thailand, they most likely wont feel any guilt about taking you to the cleaners if you're making an ass of yourself.

my best advice for you is to go a bit easier on the sauce until you get back to your place or hotel and then finish it up if you want to get drunk. sloppy drunk in public in a poor country- thats a bad scene 8 out of 10 times.

anyone else?....i was in bkk in 2001, so its been a while to price stuff...

but isnt plaa yai, just cooked in leaves- around 300bht? beer 60-100. 1000 is way off

Perhaps it was 100 baht per 100 grams...if not in fact a rip off.

Lesson here...don't try to navigate in unfamiliar waters when three sheets to the wind. There be monsters here!
