Bobbys Arms in Soi 4 is no more. Tonight - sunday - was the last night before it shut and the premesis reopen in a couple of weeks as a gay bar with a new name.
Bobbys will reopen on Patpong Soi 2 above Cafe De Paris next week.
Will it change? will it be better? stay tuned for details

Well, the new Bobbys is surprisingly an even more depressing place than the old one.
The bar is above Cafe De Paris and for those who need other references its opposite Cleopatras gogo. One problem is that, if you blink, you will miss the entrance as the stairs up are towards the back of CDP and the tables and chairs camoflage the route.
Inside its actually quite nice with a sort of earthy brick colour scheme, the bartop is a very small one which means its better to sit at one of the tables if theres more than 2 of you.
The happy hour is now only 4-7pm which is now the same as OReillys and the Exchange ( during the week ) so watching the football is now a bit more expensive at 160B a pont for Heineken. A continuation of Bobbys tradition means you still need to go upstairs for a pee.
Draft Beers are Heineken, Chang and John Smiths
One other major drawback is that unless you actually sit at the window you cant see the street below.
Last night when I was in watching the football the number of customers was precisely er um 1.
Bobby will really need to do something to make everyone more aware of where it is and change the entrance to get more folk in, otherwise it will continue to have the atmosphere of the marie celeste.
