Date Syrup
I've seen tons of it here and it comes in bottles similar to the kind that maple syrup comes in. Here's a pic of a bottle from the net. What would you use date syrup for? What types of recipes? Is it a condiment? I'm really fascinated by it and I'm tempted to buy it, but I want a good reason.

Rub (Arabic: رُب) pronounceced /IPA:rub/ is a thick dark brown syrup extracted from dates. Used widely in Libya usually with Asida.
Asida ('asīda) (Arabic: عصيدة) is an Arab dish made up of a cooked wheat flour lump of dough. It is eaten throughout the Arab world, from the Arab Gulf states to the North Africa. It is eaten with hand, without using utensil. It is often served on holidays, such as Mawlid and celebreations.
The Libyan version is served with a sweet syrup; usually rub, but also with honey.

Nana, your pic looks a bit weird, but the explanation is good. The only problem is that it comes in huge bottles. I'm hoping to find smaller ones.
