Go to the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Thammasat University at lunchtime. There's an air conditioned cafe there for the students. Sit and chat with them. It'll blow your mind - promise
While away the hours before happy hour in the Neilson Hayes library, really chilled little oasis.
Hit JJ park at around 4p.m chill with a book.
Cycle round the railway park opposite before you chill in JJ.

I lived in Bangkok for about six weeks, but visited plenty other times.
Take a paddle boat ride in Lumpini Park.
Work out in the outdoor gym in Lumpini.
Get a foot massage in Lumpini Park.
Go and see a fight at the Lumpini boxing stadium. Get front row seats if possible.
Learn Muay Thai. You'll get fit fast.
Not sure if the Lumpini Night Bazaar is still open, but the night market is awesome.
Go on the Ferris Wheel in the park at nighttime.

i've definitely devoured durian (sometimes on the very same day as Queen Mangosteen)... just not an entire durian.
i've gotten not gotten deals at King Power, but i've eaten at the buffet.
haven't had a suit made (i'd hold out for a HK tailor) but i've decked myself out in custom shirts and pants (look for tailors that DO NOT have 2 for 1 cheapo deals or a guy out front inviting you in, to start)...
i avoid English camps but as for the tuk tuk i've only breezed through a small part of Thonburi...
