So if you're having noodle soup, do you fill your spoon by pushing away towards the opposite rim of the bowl, or towards you?

Neither, I dip my soup in the soup, saves the table cloth.

If you push either rim you'll upset the bowl.

So are you dipping your face in the soup, or just your nose as a siphon?

I've never tried to use my nose as a syphon, I don't think it is high enough above my mouth to allow gravity to do it's thing.

So do you dip your face in the soup? I'm just trying to figure out your post #18.

Chopsticks definitely. Double up as a weapon if needed.

I meant to type "I dip my spoon in the soup". Dipping my spoon into the soup rather than pushing it against the near or far rim saves knocking over the bowl.

So I take it splashing outside the bowl or even knocking the bowl over has been a problem in the past?

Presumably it is still a problem for you.

    ---Update---

Try just dipping your spoon in the soup, no reason to push or pull.

Not so fast my friend. Sometimes one must nudge and use the sides to coax a stubborn ingredient onto the spoon. Unless, that is, you use the suction method by quickly dipping your spoon. I'm a nudger though, not a quick dipper. Maybe this quick dipping is the reason for your past knock overs?

I just blend it and suck it through a straw.
