    Chopsticks, or a Fork?

Last night, the Mrs. and I had a rare night out without the monkeys. We went to a very nice Thai restaurant and had one of the best meals I've had in the 8 years we've been in Kuwait. Throughout the meal, we couldn't help noticing some nob a few tables over trying to impress his date with his chopstick proficiency. It was almost comical as he fumbled through every dish with his sticks.

So, what's your preference, chopsticks, or a fork?

Depends on the dish, but usually chopsticks if appropriate, as long as they're not Korean chopsticks. Have grown to dislike putting metal in my mouth.

Forks, on account that we've moved on from using twigs as utensils.
"Take this, brother; may it serve you well."

if its korean food give me the twigs as utensils. Its easier, you can't really eat kimchi with a fork,it has a low stabablity quotient.
steak and western food give me a fork and a knife.

Twigs are useful for suki and noodle soup and such, not much cope for a pie though.

You took the chopsticks right out of my mouth.

    ---Update---

If I'm having noodles, and the sticks are wooden, then I go for the sticks. Everything else, give me a fork.

Come to think of it, what do you use to eat hamburgers and chips? I haven't moved on from using my hands never mind twigs.

The right tool for the job I say.

I think if KC was at a Thai place, then yes what a nob. Surprises me that most Thai places in the US set the table with chopsticks.

The spoon is the only utensil that you need to eat with

They'd be deported or shot if that happened in Bensonhurst.

My first date with my first Japanese girlfriend was my first time in a Thai restaurant. I demanded to know why we were given fork and spoon instead of chopsticks, hoping to impress her with my Asian cultural savvy.

    Boy, was I embarrassed.

Neither of us liked the food. Maybe it was the taste of crow leftover from the meal's opening act.

I think patriotism and nationalism should be avoided as much as religion and prayer.
