^ quite recent addition to the fruit market in Thailand almost unknown 15 years ago.
I could spend hours (and often have) eating noy na (custard apple) but don't see them around as much these days. Also I do like the varieties of humble banana in Thailand - gluay kai, gluay nam wa, gluay lep meu narng etc.
Papa was a rodeo - Mama was a rock'n'roll band
I could play guitar and rope a steer before I learned to stand
I love mango and mangosteen and good lychees.
I can't stand guava or that rose apple is it? (chompu)
Pineapple is a bit boring as well.
The worst job in Thailand must be the man who has to sit down with a blue marker pen and mark a number two on the two-baht coins to stop people thinking they are one-baht coins.
seems plenty to choose from. Great stuff
I've started my own blog. It's not very good -

No one has mentioned Lon gon. A small round fruit.
When you peel it, it has a silvery grey flesh and tastes like sweet grapefruit....In season at the moment.

there seem to be several varieties of small round peel-able things. can't keep track of what's what, but don't have to since they're all good.
Imodium can't stop me.
Trying to be healthy I ate a pack of jack fruit (which I've eaten before and really like, albeit in smaller quantities) between lessons yesterday. horrible stomachache after. Did the same thing with Pomelo (really really good) the other week too. moderation may be the key...
If you are prone to GI disorders as I am, many thai fruit - especially mangosteen and papaya - are like drinking battery acid. Be careful.
---Update---
rambuttan is in season now, about 25 baht/kg ... looks like the Star Trek episode, 'The Trouble with Tribbles'
Harry Mudd and the rambutan
"Take this, brother; may it serve you well."
is this a ST reference?
Yep!

You're damn good Anna.![]()
Anna, if your mom was on a lipid reducer (for high cholesterol), wafarin, or a couple of different cardia anti-arrythmia drugs it could be why she was told to avod grapefruit and grapefruit juice. It interferes with how they work and can keep them from doing what they are supposed to do. In some cases, with some of the more popular cholesterol drugs, it can cause a rather nasty side effect on many folks. Some docs also advise limiting or avoiding all citrus products if you are on on of those drugs to cover their a$$.
