I've never tried, but my understanding is no.
Nuts In A Blender
RCA has always been ok to find someplace to hang out, but was silly/pointless during the closing times crackdown a few years back.
When I was in America a guy told me to 'have a nice day' but I didn't, so I sued him
RCA during Songkran was fun a few years back....
Papa was a rodeo - Mama was a rock'n'roll band
I could play guitar and rope a steer before I learned to stand
RCA remains a place, luckily still, where the stereotypical farang/bargirls don't frequent much.
Out of their comfort zones perhaps.
^too many social skills required...
i used to spend a fair amount of time in RCA because a friend of mine lived there, his girlfriend worked at Cosmic Cafe, and his hip-hop friends played in clubs there every weekend (and many weekdays). weird thing about big clubs like Route 66 is that, in typical Thai style, there's no real dance floor. people stand around their tables and if they dance, they do so next to their table. as someone mentioned, the indie movie theater's nice, and Cosmic Cafe has some interesting arty farty events from time to time.
Imodium can't stop me.
Is Brown sugar(?) still there?
I remember it being on Lang Suan.
at the away-from Sukumvit end, right? that's where i remember it but haven't been there in half a decade. in other Jazz-related news, haven't been back there recently myself, but word on the street is that Jazz Happens has moved away from having Jazz actually happen and toward Thai pop. good thing! there aren't enough places in town to hear the same 5 Thai pop songs over and over!
Yeah... Bangkok is no place for a live jazz fan... I've seen people come on here and recommend Saxophone for jazz but it's infrequent and it's usually shit... Hanoi, now, that's a different story...
Age is immaterial.
A good smile and eye contact melts their hearts, as does a bit of liquor too.
