I am getting cravings for them like crazy. Seeing as I live outside of anywhere touristy or expaty it looks like I will be making them myself. Any tips? I have never made a pie before so any input would be appreciated
Also, Frey Bentos; anywhere in the Big Mango I can buy them?
Pies as in pizza pies or pies as in apple pies?
As in meat pies...such as chicken and ham.

ah ... yumm. Anna should be along shortly.
I made a shepherds pie yesterday. Well, when I 'shepherds', it kinda turned out as a cross breed shepherd/cottage pie. Not that I know the difference really, it just seemed like a cross breed as I was chucking all kinds of stuff into it. The sweet potato, sunflower seeds and cheese topping was special.

Since when is a pizza a pie?
Fruit pies I can understand the confusion but a pizza is not a pie.

On the topic. One of the teachers at my old school used to do a weekly pie bake and sell them to others. The biggest problem he had was getting hold of suet for the pastry and in maintaining a cool stone block for rolling it out. Filo pastry just doesn't cut it for a real pie.
We could all sit outside on banana lounges discussing the best way to rebuild a 4WD transmission and agree, through shared stories of conquests supporting our assertions, that there is no basis to the proposition that those least assured of their persuasions are the first to condemn others for theirs.
