I suppose somebody has to make a "Fiddler on the Roof" gag at some point..or perhaps we can describe the situation like Ajarn on a hot tin roof.

Defender, can you please post the text when you provide links to other forums, to save time for those of us with cripplingly slow net connections this evening.....and the only reason you posted that link was to point to people slagging me off on the same thread. Most kind. Perhaps you might elaborate on how Hero was misquoted when it was a straight copy/paste with attatched link.

3 teachers have been arrested on suspicion of carrying fake documentation.

if they're frauds, i'm glad. they should be kicked out of the country for life and hit with a large fine...50,000-100,000 baht. if they don't have the cash, put them in jail.

immigration officials should be doing this all over the country every day.

Quite a few schools are apparently now giving instructions to new teachers on the quickest way to get on to the roof.

Just like the Mexican dishwashers in America, running from the Migra. So it's come down to this.

Be as vague as possible. No one knows the real truth because stories such as this are bound to get embellished as they pass from person to person.

I bet by the end of today we'll have teachers leaping from one rooftop to another, shinning down drainpipes and running across bombpecks - all to a backdrop of wailing sirens and megaphones.

It seems by reading one post on the Teflwatch forum these people were nicked for having a TL denied or revoked a while back and still continued teaching which makes it a slightly different story from being raided for working on a dodgy cert.

Lets see how many of these people are actually kicked out or perhaps they will be given the option of paying a rather large fine which will then work its way round with everyone creaming off their 5%. wouldn't suprise me iof the principal at some of these schools are shopping their own Ferrangs for their cut of the pie.

There's a sound statement. And if these rectors had banamee they wouldn't get raided in the first place. That's why this raid shit wouldn't work in the sticks. These small towns have owners and they're people waaay about current Bangkok legislation.

Id like to know what would happen in the case of somebody working on a non-O/non-B with a moody cert married to a Thai with kids (and no, i'm not fishing because I'm in that situation!) and getting caught. Thrown out of LOS? There must be some form of appeal in this case.

In any case they passed a law two years ago saying that bars/pubs had to close at midnight. Pretty sure I could drink in bars until 4 or 5 a.m. if I wanted to and all of the big bar areas go on until one or two!
