I've been asked to lock this thread now. Discussion here is about the old watch under Watchman, and no longer applies to the new TSW site which as you may or may not know is now under new management. Please direct all future discussion of Thai school watch to the new topic which is now stuck at the top of the Staffroom.

Looks like another troll forum to me. Was just over there and all I saw was name calling, naming of people, and complete nonsense. It' nothing but an unmoderated forum that allows whatever. Just hope people can't be foolish enough to believe stuff like that.

What a depressing site

Man, I've been out of Thailand a year now...are things really that bad at some places?

I can see the merit in such a site. Absolutely.

However, the 'quality' of some posts is pretty much bordering on "nutter" category. You tend to wonder where the real problem lies...the school or the teacher.

I am sure a lot of the schools are craphouse...but people would do their credibility a lot of good if they tried to stay calm while writing / tried to explain what went wrong 'rationally' etc etc.

TSW is off to a somewhat sticky start, although as Ken says, the admin have had a little tidy-up. It's certainly the kind of site you wouldn't want to get too busy because you'd have headaches 24/7. The new TSW seems to have attracted the obvious trolls (which the old TSW didn't)
I would like to see more threads like the BFITS one, where a teacher slags off the school and then the director comes on to put his side of the story. I like to see those threads evenly balanced. I think it's a shame when school admins see a few negative comments and immediately get their knickers in a twist and start dialing up lawyer friends.

It hs lost a little something since the demise of Watchman. Agreed that the BFITS thread was very entertaining, but otherwise it seems that there's more of a reluctance to post, maybe the threat of legal action has put some off from posting.

You got that right, was entertaining once upon a time. It seems some people can't let go of past issues about themselves or what they didn't like (same old swan song over and over and over again) and it has entered in an obsession of sorts. Time to move on.
