.............i'm just funnin' you Bill........
And trying to push this to the 2000 post level.
I think we should have some sort of prize for the person offering number 2000.
I see perhaps yourself or Chang...though it would be nice to see Anna do number 2000....
it won't be me...
Once we hit around 1995, I'll be laying real low like.
Poker anyone? Let's set up a table...
Migrated
Five dollar anti.
I'll see your bet and raise you a hundred.
I love poker.
Nothing fancy...
Straight stud of course.
Nothing beats five aces..........
I'm a roulette man myself but I did make a small pile playing Blackjack in the Bahamas once
They had one of those supervisors stand behind the dealer to ensure we didn't have some arrangement, and to work out my "method". It's called "luck". I just kept betting what I felt like and it kept winning. It helps if you've been at the rum and don't care either way too.
---Update---
I seem to recall that soaking them in vinegar or baking them created an advantage ....
It served to convince me that luck can, and does, play a large part in gambling.
I started with a $ 50 stake and walked away from the table with close to $ 500 and have little idea how I did it.
I don't think I've ever won a penny in a casino.
I consider the free drinks and a cheap breakfast fair enough compensation.
Once, I almost drank myself into a stupor in Las Vegas
Cheapest drunk I ever had.
Didn't spend that much either .
Maybe 20 or thirty bucks......
I actually prefer the one armed bandits. Once I came within one card of a Royal Flush.
No second prize in a case like that. Even a straight or a pair of deuces will beat you.![]()
I have a very simple philosophy with gambling.
Start with a modest stake and bet low.
If I lose the stake money I walk away and have a good meal.
If I start winning then I play with their money and bet higher.
Many times I have simply walked away with little more left than the original stake money after a truly fun session lasting hours.
A couple of times I have had memorable wins.
... and I have had so many meals I am now obese.
Father Dave has just flown in for tomorrow's sermon and it seems he has some things to say about the flight...
We are truly blessed this morning by the presence of Father David.
Is it a Chrysler?
Is it a Ford?
Well, judging by the size I figure it must be GM
