Re: Muay Thai
There are well-known Muay Thai gyms in Phuket and Samui. Can you be a bit more specific about where you'll be? Do you want to take the course for training or just go in for fights? I know one in Phuket has both options.

Re: Muay Thai
try MuayThaiLand.com: Muay Thai Boxing Camps in Thailand. Travelling to Thailand to do Muay Thai Boxing in Thailand
There is Sor Vorapin 1 just off Kao San Road, Chuwattana near Patpong, Kaewsamrit one of the best in the world is in Pinklao . Incidentally at Kaewsamrit you will find some of Thailands best "western" boxers. Muay Thai Plaza is located in the Suan Lum night bazaar.
If you train in Phuket there are 5 or 6 falang-orientated gyms worth training at now and a good MMA facility at Tiger Muay Thai.
I am interested in opening a gym in Thailand next year probably in Kanchanaburi - will be looking at land in that area in a few weeks. There is also the possibility that I may have a screw lose but would love to give it a whirl...

Near me. Now I'm wondering whether I should go bash the pads.
Wonder if they'd train a fat farang who just wants to get a little fitter without competing?

Why don't you try, Fairtex. They will train just about anyone from kids to adults, male and female, and whip you into shape fast.

One reason not to go there. Technically very poor when it come to defence and guarding as the emphasis is on crowd-pleasing attacks.

Re: Muay Thai
^No, that is not true. Fairtex is one of the best places to train. What I mean by they will train just about anyone, is that it is one of the only places that accepts women trainers, and that it doesn't matter what level you are at. Some of the guys are professional boxers, and some are just beginning. You better learn more about it before you say something like that.

Re: Muay Thai
I know plenty about it pb and my opinion is shared by a couple of friends who are former champion prize-fighters.
