Anger management - no need for Karaoke singing monks or nutters in cardigans.

Natural management.

I love this place! It taught me how to meditate to levels I didn`t think I could reach. Is Tan Dammavidu still there?

See 'American Psychological Association' site. Has a good overview of various approaches under 'Anger' on the topics list. I've seen most of these used in a court-mandated treatment program. Mixed results-mostly fair to good though.

Might be okay if the friend is a Buddhist with excellent Thai language ability. Quite possible that anger would be more intense in a retreat. In the beginning anyway.

I'm no psychologist, but aren't booze and drugs usually manifestations of the roots of problems? IMHO, people have their problems and then turn to drugs rather that the other way around.

Not at all, the two temples mentioned in this thread are inhabited by foreign monks who give instruction in English.

I'm off to do a bit of soul-searching now.

Re: Anger Management self help workshops in BKK ?

Hi Leeds,
I mean 'deluded' in the Buddhist context. The Three Poisons are - Desire; Hate and Delusion. Delusion meaning we are deluded into thinking that certain things will make us happy and content where they generally do the opposite. It also has a deeper philosophical meaning which would take too long to go into.
