I have friends who are fat and they are always onto some quick faddish diet that they think is going to make them thin in one week, but every time I see them, they have found a different miracle diet that is going to work.
It does my head in. One woman I know has this incredible recipe for making cakes and desserts that 'burn the fat'. Cakes and desserts????? Mind you, she is still fat.

It's amazing how so many seemingly intelligent people can believe such crackpot schemes when it comes to losing weight.
It amuses me to see those monthly magazines for men and women about health - jeez, how much variation can they get into the basics of 'Eat a balanced diet that doesn't contain more calories than you burn off'. How do you squeeze 12 issues a month over years and years out of that??
I only mentioned 'over the last 100 years' because presumably buddahas' is implying that exercise cannot do much to improve / maintain health because the way lifestyles have evolved is fundamentally unhealthy.
I don't agree with that - but it does take effort and awareness that there are no crackpot shortcuts and that healthy (or unhealthy) routines are by definition things that you do pretty much every day for the rest of your life.
