    Fast food gives me the runs over here, I think it's the fries. I prefer to cook my own food when I have the chance but often just grab something from the market...god knows whats in it.

    A lot has changed... like jobs for example. There is a lot of 9-5 office jobs which require you to sit all day long like a restrained lamb in metal bars. No matter what your diet is, if you don't move all day, you are screwed.... and 1 hour daily excercise routine won't help that much.

    My wife uses that shit and although it works it is painful to watch her.

    Diet medications are not the answer as the problem stems from a habitual lifestyle choice that must be corrected first. Too much energy intake against the energy being used.
    Faith, by itself, isn't a good enough reason to believe. Instead, a belief must be defensible through reason, logic, and evidence.
    The idea that faith is somehow justified by the fact that the beliefs cannot be proven is a truly Orwellian position to adopt - not to mention intellectually and ethically dangerous.

    Stop dairy and bread and walk from Wongwian Yai to Pratunam three times a week. Sweat. Drink water. I lost so much weight when I put my mobile in my pocket my shorts fell off.

    There always was lots of office jobs, especially for women.

    People just eat too much and too much of the quick, instant gratification variety of food.

    No, maybe not, but in the last fifty years, women did most of the clerical work and it has really only been in the last twenty years that obesity has taken such a hold.

    I have friends who are fat and they are always onto some quick faddish diet that they think is going to make them thin in one week, but every time I see them, they have found a different miracle diet that is going to work.

    It does my head in. One woman I know has this incredible recipe for making cakes and desserts that 'burn the fat'. Cakes and desserts????? Mind you, she is still fat.

    It's amazing how so many seemingly intelligent people can believe such crackpot schemes when it comes to losing weight.

    It amuses me to see those monthly magazines for men and women about health - jeez, how much variation can they get into the basics of 'Eat a balanced diet that doesn't contain more calories than you burn off'. How do you squeeze 12 issues a month over years and years out of that??

    I only mentioned 'over the last 100 years' because presumably buddahas' is implying that exercise cannot do much to improve / maintain health because the way lifestyles have evolved is fundamentally unhealthy.

    I don't agree with that - but it does take effort and awareness that there are no crackpot shortcuts and that healthy (or unhealthy) routines are by definition things that you do pretty much every day for the rest of your life.
