Daniel Bedingfield claimed that his new album is what it would sound like if Sting, Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson were in a basement together - I haven't got the album so I'll have to imagine the sound of a blind bloke and a Geordie kicking the shit out of a pedophile.
basically avoid any processed foods and then cook for yourself. fresh veg and, if you must, meat. don't add salt, bingo.
Hales has the answer.
Avoiding sale does take a change in eating habits. Avoiding processed foods (nearly everyting in the supermarket from meats to things canned)?
Restaurants are very problematic: foods with sodium and even high sodium don't taste salty!
Best of luck Sorp.
I believe you have a blood pressure (like I do) if I may enquire.

You might want to ask your doctor why you need to cut out salt. I have a problem with high blood pressure...at times labile. Doctors began telling me to stop using salt. Then one doctor asked why. He did blood tests and said that my sodium levels were actually excellent and well within the normal range and that while he didn't recommend I pour salt on food, he said normal consumption of salt for me was not a problem. I asked him why other doctors said the opposite. He replied, "Knee jerk reaction because a majority of people with high blood pressure do have problems with salt. But, you're not one of the majority."
Just about everything.
Processed foods are deadly in terms of salt and other not so healthy additions.
Keep away from anything deep fried. Not only is it full of fat and oil but slt as well.
If you want to eat half way healthily in Thailand you really havthe horns.
Thailand has to have one of the least healthy diets on the planet.
We have an epidemic of diabetes and heart disease coming not too far down the road.
My experience with doctors here is that they no next to nothing about nutrition.

True, russell.
What is slt? Thanks.
---Update---
If your sure that's the culprit, then good on you, and I hope you avoid it.
My last BP reading was 150/100. Stroke, material.
But I do realize I need to get the BP checked at home on a regular basis, to get an accurate reading.
Public forum, what the hell... are you satisfied with your stools?
If not, try taking one loperamide every other day before breakfast. Preferably NOT Imodium though because those things can block you up.
I no longer need to do this anymore, but Russ recommended it to me and it worked a treat. Nice firm stools = no dehydration = no high blood pressure.
B vitamins are also essential my doctor tells me. I'm trying out Berocca. Makes your pee an odd colour though!
Coke and other soft drinks are full of the stuff apparently. So I heard anyway.

Hmm, this is a very hot country and too little salt could be trouble. I have HBP and take 1/2 a diuretic tablet (hydroxide) and Enaril. The diuretic may create a need for a slight increase in salt intake. Combine that with the heat and subsequent sweating; I'd be careful about lowering salt intake very much. If a doctor told you to do that I'd ask why.![]()
