Too long in Exile, baby you just arent my friend.
Too long in Exile my friend, Baby you can never go home again.
Thank you AO. . do u remember roughly what it cost?
expensive as I recall but well below the rate in the states.
If you are still considering going to India, you could consider getting it done there. Cheaper again than Thailand, I think. Haven't had it done myself, but know people who have. I could check with them, if you like.
I was looking into it as well. My father had his done in Singapore. Cheaper than the UK as well if I remember.
Yup, but some awful ones , too! Let me check it out with the people who've had it done there and I'll get back to you. Have you decided on your port of call yet, so I can check in the right places? As far as I know, it's pretty much an outpatient treatment, so it wouldn't interfere with your travel plans. Depending on where you decide to have it done, of course.
Most likely I will fly in and out of Kolcutta. . but will be in varanassi, agra, rajastan and Delhi as well
I too have considered doing the same but my problem with it is that it's not like you do it one time and you are good to go forever . . we are all going to get older and those eyes are going to continue to age and depending on when you do it the first time, you are going to probably have to have it done again (and again?) in order to keep the same level of vision . . . one might also need glasses for reading, driving at night, etc
I cannot figure a way around all of that so have held off of doing anything . . and not to mention I'm not too thrilled to have anyone screwing around with my eyes but I think I can get past that part
I had it done about five years ago in Bangkok, specifically for reading. It cost 44 thousand baht.
I threw the reading glasses away and have not used them since.
For all the money I spent on glasses, breakages, losses etc, let alone the bloody inconvenience of them, I am very happy with the results.
thats not bad..considering ud pay between 100,000 baht and 130,000 baht the states. .

I had Lasik about 8 years ago, it gave me 20/20 vision for about 4 years then after that I needed to wear glasses again, it cost a grand per eye at that time, and wasn't a pleasant experience, they slice the eye lid and when they lift it it feels horrible, then they zap it with a laser so you can smell the eye burning, after was a few weeks of different drops per day, i wouldn't recommend it, some people have problems afterwards, a Thai woman in my class says her eyesight has diminished after the op, but up to you.
