Hi guys,
I did something really stupid - rode a motorbike after alcohol and I ended up my leg fractured in 5 places. It required quite complicated surgery. I don't have insurance and I now owe to hospital around B130k. Gladly, I do have enough money.
Anyway, the hospitals says that Thai government will help me with 50k towards cost of hospitalisation. That sounds way too good. Does anyone know if it's true? According to hospital it doesn't matter that I'm a foreigner...
That's very possible. Start the paper work asap if there is any. It's also possible the hospital will take care of that for you, good luck.

I believe they're talking about the insurance coverage for the m/c. It also assumes he had a valid DL.
Concerning your motorcycle accident.
You should have a proper operator’s license to operate that kind of vehicle in any country around the world. Each country may have different laws and regulations. You just don’t buy a motorcycle and hop on, like your howdy duty and ride off in the sunset.
You need to have the proper insurance to cover you and the other party lest you get into an accident or kill yourself or kill someone else. If you don’t, you can be libel for that countries rules and regulations. In Thailand, Thai are right and foreigners are considered in the wrong.
Remember, the rules here are different then rules in your country or any other civilized country.

Ok, it turns up that guy from hospital confused "fifty" with "fifteen" and this is what I'm gonna get... Still not bad.
Or it is 50 and you are getting 15 and the guy is keeping 35 , just a thought.
My next door neighbours have challenged me to a water fight , so I am just writing this while I am waiting for the kettle to boil .

As is the case in the UK and Europe and other civilised countries. That being, free of contribution based headth care.
Just to let you know, they deducted the 15k from my bill.
