Thread: Are foreigners eligible for the 30 baht health insurance?

Just wondering

I never really considered it before as I have insurance from back home.

Foreign teachers are not eligible for the 30 THB health insurance scheme. However, foreign employees at government schools must contribute to the Social Security Office fund and the Workmen's Compensation Funds which provide health care similar to the 30 THB scheme for Thai citizens. Half of the costs is carried by the employer and half by the employee with a maximum of 750 THB per month.
