Hi all,
This is a bit of a random query so apologies for that.
I'm moving to Thailand from the UK in Feb next year. I'll be in CM for a month doing my CELTA, after which I'll be free to roam. I play roller derby 3 times a week for fun and fitness and would LOVE to keep it up as much as possible when I move. I can't seem to get a sense of whether roller skating is something that's done in Thailand - do you guys know? I've not been able to find any Thai roller derby teams - though if you know of any, PLEASE pass on details! - but do you have any idea if there are places to roller skate (and people to roller skate with) in the bigger cities? Sports halls, decent pavements in parks for example?
Massive thanks in advance for any info!![]()
Join me, tis the only kind of skating I've seen.
Daniel Bedingfield claimed that his new album is what it would sound like if Sting, Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson were in a basement together - I haven't got the album so I'll have to imagine the sound of a blind bloke and a Geordie kicking the shit out of a pedophile.
This is roller derby now days in case someone doesn't know.

We could all sit outside on banana lounges discussing the best way to rebuild a 4WD transmission and agree, through shared stories of conquests supporting our assertions, that there is no basis to the proposition that those least assured of their persuasions are the first to condemn others for theirs.
ice skating is big. never seen anyone roller blade here.
I would break ALL OF MYSELF if I tried to do anything like that! Having said that, if there aren't any other skate-related options then I may be forced into it from skate withdrawal!
Cheers for that!
I'm a quad skater rather than a blader but still, sad news!
Thanks all - it sounds as if there isn't much of a skate culture out there. Maybe I'll try and start one when I show up?!
The Ministry of Culture would hate the sport and I doubt most Thai women would find it attractive, though some might.
If desperate you can always join Team Farang
Movie? Who said anything about a movie?
---Update---
Just kidding!

And a remake, low budget by the looks of it, in 2002.
