Looking for a short term apt. in Bangkok

    Hi,
I've posted on here a few times previously and you have always been very helpful. Now I am "The Newbie" in Bangkok and looking for a place to stay while I look for a job. The hotel thing isn't working and I figured I'd turn to you people to suggest a place to hang my hat for a month or so. till I find a job. If anyone can suggest a place they are at or have stayed at previously that is by the BTS, is CLEAN, and internet access is a MUST. Please let me know. Location of the BTS isn't crucial now, as I don't know where I will get the job. I just know at the present, I need to be somewhat close to one of the stations so I can have access. PLease don't flame me with sarcastic replies about stations and such, I'm totally new to the city and I am in a desperate search to find someplace within the next 3 days.
    Thanks,
    Nhscotsman

I'm in a similar situtaion. Is there any "normal" priced housing in BKK like in Chiang Mai? Normal is 3000 for AC large room plus elec. What area can I look at? I spent today looking around Lumphini. Disappointing. If you're rich, you can live near the park. Otherwise, it's 7,000 B min. for AC & very congested. I just returned from China and don't feel like spending my hard-earned cash on rent. Pls help...

Short-termer: I hope this helps. This is what I did that helped a lot: get an MRT map, learn to discuss an an area, visit it, talk to the locals. Walk the city. I've been at it 2 days & each area took a morning, until it was too hot to walk. Not so bad. Don't get discouraged, even though everything's on hold for now.
