Live in a big 3 bedroom on Lang Suan for just 7k/month!!! Really!!!

I have an impossibly good deal for someone looking to share an apartment. Myself (26y/o male American teacher) and a friend (22 French female) are currently occupying a 3 bedroom on Lang Suan and need a 3rd roomate. Rent for the 3rd room will only be 6.5-7.5k, depending on which room you want to take, plus maid (500/person/month) and ultilities (500/person, or more if you use a/c).

The available rooms (you can choose):

~18sqm, nice big window, a/c, good storage. Shared bathroom. 6.5k/month
~20sqm, nice big window, a/c, good storage. Private bathoom attached only to this bedroom. 7.5k/month.

(My friend is planning to take the other room which is much smaller, has only a tiny window, and no a/c, but if you are interested in taking this room and only paying 4k I can talk to her and see if she'll go for one of the bigger rooms).

And here's a bit about the apartment:

    The Good:
    - 3 bedroom, 2 bath, nice hardwood floors. Living room, dining room, and kitchen areas (though not divided). Quite big, maybe 110sqm-ish.
    - Ultra-convenient Lang Suan location: 8 minute walk to BTS Ratchdamri, 12 minute walk to BTS Chitlom, 3 minute walk to Lumphini Park. Motorcycles and taxis easily available at all times of day. Most times, you step out the door and have a taxi within 20 seconds.
    - The price is a STEAL for this area. Basic, nothing special studios on Lang Suan cost more than this, and 1 bedrooms cost more than double.
    - Maid service 2 times per week (500/person/month) and she will also do laundry with ironing for 1000/month/person. Does a hell of a job too.
    - The 2 bedrooms available are large, airconditioned, and have big windows.
    - Parking available for free as far as I know, but I'd have to ask the landlord to be sure as I don't have a car and never bothered to find out the details.

    The Bad:
    - Apt has basic furniture in every room, but don't expect a fully appointed luxury suite at this price
    - Kitchen likewise has a sink and cabinets, but no cooking appliances besides a microwave. Plenty of space to buy and use a hot plate, small oven, etc. etc. though.

Contact me asap at dan.gallucci@gmail.com or 0865990083 (text first please and I will call you back, I don't answer unknown calls). I need to find someone ASAP.

Hmmm... ..7k-8k for one bedroom and having to share with two strangers? Here's an offer I think most people will gladly refuse. Best of luck though..........

PS. For an exra 3K a month....I had my own (brand new) 2 bedroom place....kitchen, living room....2 bathrooms....maid/laundry service....in a very central location, right next to the skytrain....in Bangers.

The rent you are offering seems almost too good to be true. Where is the place located on Soi Lang Suan? While I worked for the government a few years back I lived in Garden View Mansion on Soi Lang Suan. The government was paying about $2,000 U.S. per month for me and other people to live there in apartments that had two bedrooms, a den, three baths, a big combination dining room and living room, separate kitchen, and maid quarters.

Sadly this is an issue that pisses me off to no end. Its not the governments money is the way they think. Could have been done at 1/2 the price. The Bennies are often as much as the salary.

Lang Suan is FULL of such places, agreed. The reason mine is cheap is that it's in a small, untitled building, and it's completely no frills- no reception, no pool, no lift, no anything really. But it's still a hell of a bargain, and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know the first thing about the Ratchadamri-Lang Suan-Wireless area.

The building is located behind Sahapat Clinic, across from Soi 6. It's only 5 stories and 2 apartments per floor, you probably wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking carefully for it.

I'm struggling to see how living with two complete strangers in a tattily furnished apartment is anywhere near 'too good to be true'.

I guess 'pay for play' would be outta da question, for a start.

What is the full size of the apt in meters squared?
Daniel Bedingfield claimed that his new album is what it would sound like if Sting, Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson were in a basement together - I haven't got the album so I'll have to imagine the sound of a blind bloke and a Geordie kicking the shit out of a pedophile.

It's in an extremely convenient, central location, and it's 100x nicer inside than any of the studios I've seen at this price per person? And it's actually cheaper per sqm than said studios? Having an excellent and extremely cheap maid service? Actually having a living room, dining room, and a kitchen? Going out to the many restaurants and bars nearby and walking home afterward? Being about 100m from Lumphini Park?

No, I can't imagine how this would be a good deal

I estimate 110sqm, but I've never had it measured. Could be 120 or 130. It's much, MUCH larger for sure than the ~80sqm apartments I've been in.

Geez my 100 sq. metre two bedroom apartment isn't big enough for me and my wife at the moment.....It's as full as it can get comfortably.

Must have a huge living room, if this place is bigger than 110m2

The way i look at it is the OP must be in la la land

I'd have thought that it would be better and cheaper to get a 32 sq. metre condo and be happier living on your own

Wow. Thanks for sharing that valuable information with the ajarn community...but was there a little something missing? Or are we supposed to all just say "ooohh" in unison.

"If you're not interested in changing where you work (and thus the student population, obviously) then a) your success at applying various and sundry teaching techniques is unlikely to have anything to do with how effective they are in general, and b) your sweeping generalizations about Thai students serve no purpose but to fuel your inertia and your feeling of being an 'insider'. Sadly (for you) few who read your sweeping generalizations will perceive it that way, but hey if it makes you feel good, knock yourself out." -zeusdogg
