As you probably know there are one heck of a lot of folks retire up here in CM. I know quite a few. Some build smart houses just outside of town, others renovate condos in older buildings, and the lucky few are investing in the smart brand spanking new places that are shooting up around the city.

Options are so diverse that it's not possible to give an average price for your requirements. Best come and take a look around yourself, you'll be surprised at what's available.

Btw, i'm in a 1 bed 74 SQM joint, and there's plenty of room, both in the living area and the bedroom, but if there's going to be 2 of you, you might want to look at a little more space than 60 SQM, espcially if you're after a separate kitchen in the floor plan.

I'm DEFINATELY not hi-so mate..... I don't have more money than he does..... I don't even have enough money to buy an apartment. I only live on a teachers wage and rent an apartment. The wife and i own land, but it was inherited, not bought.

An apartment for a retiree that has a kitchen and enough room to live in comfortably would have to be about 100 Sq.m. I'm sorry if i upset you, but 60 Sq.m is more like a temporary stay rather than being a retiring home.

Geez man, why don't you learn how to use a search engine or ask people who are in the biz here. Prices vary greatly in Chaing Mai depending on what you want and where it's located. Why don't you get your butt up there and start asking around or look in the newpaper? On the other hand, you might change your mind if you go now because it's very flooded and expected to get even worse. Maybe you can get a 'lakefront property" right now for real cheap.

Rent a motorcycle or a car and get out and about. Carry a note book and jot down all the specifics of what you see. Plan to spend two or three days doing this seeing different parts of CM. Good luck.
