looking temporary apartment in or around BKK

I will be moving back to BKK from south Thailand around March and am looking for a reasonably priced apartment for my wife and 2 year old son, ideally in the 7,000 baht range. I will be applying for my wife's immigration visa and waiting for the interview -- so this would need to be a short lease (4-6). If anyone has any suggestions for apartments (clean, with some space and furnished is possible) please let me know. I have transportation but walking distance to some form of public transportation is a plus. I am currently temporarily renting a small room in the Victory Monument area, so anywhere in this vicinity would be the bomb-digity. Thanks!

2 bedroom for 7K in that area might be difficult
move out a bit down the bts and you might get for 10

I am pretty flexible in regards to locations around BKK. Apartments or townhouses anywhere near the BTS or MRT would be nice. I have a 2 year old so somewhere safe and not so close to busy streets would also be a plus. I know that there are places in the 7k price range near Victory Monument. I know of a furnished and spacious apartment for about 5k on a small soi near Rajprarop Road but cannot remember the name, and not sure if there are any rooms available. Bangkok's a big place and I am sure there are many inexpensive places tucked away in the small sois. Don't have time to wander around looking for them so any suggestions would be appreciated.
