As birds fly distance around 900m. Walking distance around 1.600m. Driving depends on whether you are coming or going. Walking distance from the main road (busstop to BKK) is only around 300m. It all depends what you prefer. It is a very nice and quiet area, yet walking distance from main road, as well as easy by MC taxi to Mahidol University. Google maps show details on location.
Problem is there aren't many jobs out that way, and most jobs at Mahidol University pay very much an average sort of wage. I worked there a few years ago and remember looking at places to rent. At that time 5,000 was achievable albeit for an older house, but I couldn't see much point renting a house as I didn't need the space.
