i think many global corporations are thinking hard about how they are seen with a partner like china. not that they will drop their deals all of a sudden, as there is a bottom line- but i think there is a public sentiment tide turning against china and the companies they do biz with.

if the games were the highest attended ever, i think that would be hard to argue. as it is now, kind of a failure of sorts.

Business in the 21st century is geared towards short-term profits for their shareholders. The value in "people" has been drastically neglected for quite some time. Blaming the Chinese for the problems faced in western democracies is false and only leads to hysteria over all things to do with China. At the end of the day, we, in the west, need to improve our own democracy before we can legitmately export our so-called freedoms to the rest of the world. The fact that the media is controlled by corporate America is testimony to the failing state of democracy, particularly in America.

Sure, China's government sucks, but what is happening in the west sucks even more. We are losing our liberty, but not because of cheap Chinese imports, rather, because our system is being manipulated by corporation hell bent on getting returns for shareholders....
