Yes, you can go to a park and worship anyone you choose. You can publicly protest against the government. Can you get unbiased news reports from American media? I think not.

What scares me about America and the west is the fact that some in the government (American) are blaming their economic problems on China. When, in fact, most of the problems are being caused at home..."made in the USA." Our democracy is under attack by right-wing (often militant in idealogy) neo-conservatives. We are moving away from a pluralist society to one of protectionism. Pluralism and the Enlightenment are so vital to our liberty and freedoms.

I have to go now so I cannot continue my arguement...maybe later.

I don't know. Ever listen to Pacifica? Ever ducked into an IMC? What do you mean by "media"? Commercial TV?

News on commercial TV is just part of the commercial programming. Very very close to....a commercial!

Magazines, newspapers...the articles and the advertisements have been blending for years.

Plenty of non-commercial media out there though. By media I mean communication/information...

America contains multitudes, it's difficult to generalize...if you've ever lived there you'd understand!

Yes. That is one of the only true sources of news in the states. I enjoy democracynow.org with Amy Goodman. The problem is...so many Americans are absolute meatheads....so they probably don't know much about anything...let alone where to get unbiased reporting...sad state of affairs.
