who the fuck lumps roman in with glitter and jackson? get a fuckin' clue.
What?....Not young enough for ya Crew?.....In March 1977, film director Roman Polanski was arrested and charged with a number of offenses against Samantha Geimer, a 13-year-old girl[1] – rape by use of drugs, perversion, sodomy, lewd and lascivious act upon a child under 14, and furnishing a controlled substance to a minor.[2] At his arraignment Polanski pleaded not guilty to all charges,[3] but later accepted a plea bargain whose terms included dismissal of five of the initial charges[4] in exchange for a guilty plea to the lesser charge of engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse.[4][5]
Polanski underwent a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation,[6] and it was expected that he would only receive probation at his sentencing. However, upon learning that he was likely to face imprisonment and deportation,[5][7] Polanski fled to France in February 1978, hours before he was to be formally sentenced.[8] Since then Polanski has mostly lived in France and avoided visiting countries likely to extradite him to the United States.![]()
What's the story on him? I was still in England and heard the news on the radio. I'd never heard of him until then. Was he a p--do? Please fill me in so I know what the **** everyone's talking about.![]()
Nat, I'll have to reply to you sensibly on this.
An eccentric and very famous (in the UK) ex-disc jockey. He had 'national treasure' status in a way. However, he had been dogged by unsubstantiated rumours about his private life for the last three decades.
He was very active in charity work and raised millions of pounds in his lifetime. He volunteered his services at various hospitals in England, most notably Stoke Mandeville hospital which specialises in spinal injuries. He had friends in very high places - for example, Margaret Thatcher (when she was PM) and royalty.
He was notoriously litigious however - hence my comment about McDonalds - and he used the weight of the legal system against anyone, particularly the press (News International notably) if he got wind of any stories or reports that contradicted the benign and avuncular public image that he had cultivated over the years.
Websites that ran uncomplimentary threads about him even received warnings to remove them. And remove them they did.
All in all, he was a famous figure in British public life and his passing will be marked with sadness by many.
But not me.

Jim fixed it for me when I was young. Noone would believe it.
Thanks for the explanation, Anna.
My mate (yeah, here we go!) But no, a friend of mine went to school with a kid that was on the programme (Jim'll Fix It) and I remember seeing it.
Guess what he wanted Jim to fix for him? Get this...
He wanted to be a butler. A butler!
So they dressed the wee fella up as a butler and had him traipsing around some stately home. Some old guy was showing him the ropes, directing the footmen with the wine, checking the glasses with his white gloves and all that bollocks, and then the climax of the piece was....he served Lord and Lady Chinlessbury at dinner.
Edge of the seat stuff or what?
According to my friend, he caught severe shit at school from the other kids on his return...for about 4 years.
He's probably in an MEP in Thailand now.
"Would you like a verb in your sentence, m'Lord? Allow me."

My pleasure. You're a normal person.
Do tell, mucker! I'll believe you.
Here! You weren't a butler were you?
Oh, please, no. You weren't the butler kid...
Jimmy...
RIP.

So buggering one 13 year old is not as bad a buggering 13 as in the case of GG? Not sure I get the logic of that.

No one ever does, especially now.Do tell, mucker! I'll believe you.

Jim fixed it for me to go to Ethiopia in 1985 to take pictures of the kids with aid packages.
Well, he's a major story in Canada right now. Doesn't look good for Jimmy.
---Update---
He looks like a creepy seat sniffer that lives on his own on a council estate....
