At least 14 dead and 20 injured (changing by the minute) at the midnight opening of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises.
One or two perps and one may be in custody already.
Pardon my editorializing, but: What the fuck is wrong with Americans? We seem to own the franchise on this mass shooting crap. It's not the guns; it's something in the psyche of the people, something very screwed up.
14 dead and 39 injured...
It was a multi-plex and people in adjoining theaters were hit also as the rounds went through the walls. An ER doctor said the wounds were from a hand gun as opposed to high velocity rifle rounds.

and you have found out the exact measure of injustice
and wrong which will be imposed upon them, and these
will continue till they are resisted with either
words or blows, or with both.

I tell you, don't eat loudly in a movie in Colorado...
Seriously though, part of the problem may be the type of movie where this incident happened....

There, that's better.
The Tea Party types will no doubt be saying this was some kind of black op to build support for that UN gun treaty that they've been crying about the last couple of weeks.

Latest update: 14 dead and up to 50 injured. WTF? That's 64 people!
^ That's what I said 10 years ago...
We Americans love guns and violence. We didn't like how were were forced to be at peace with the Native Americans. So we decided to take up arms, fight the British, who had peace treaties in place with the natives, and kick them out of the continent. After we successfully did that,we decided that we were Americans and that we were not involved with any treaty, and so we proceeded to kill and poison every Native American that we could find, and then took their land. Oh, how happy we were. But we weren't done. We decided that there were Mexicans that we could kill, so we killed as many as we could, and then took their land. Now we are paranoid that somebody might want the land back, so we justify keeping guns and say it's our right to keep them, in order to protect ourselves. We pride ourselves in fighting off people and killing them with our guns. So we worship guns and put guns on pedestals. Guns built our country and gained our territory. We topple governments, fight wars, and remove elected foreign officials with our guns, in the name of democracy, because democracy is good for the world. We have to remain armed with our guns to protect our freedom. We reinforce our love of guns by making action movies and war movies that glorify guns and the movie stars that use them. We love guns. We make toy guns for our children to get them used to the idea of guns. Video game makers get support from our military to make video games about war and get our youth desensitized about killing. It's our right to own them and shoot them. We built our country with guns. Guns guns guns. We love guns.

The victims only wanted to have a night out to enjoy a new movie. This is horribly sad.
God, guns, and guts, made America! America, fuck yeah!
No you're right Guy this is the first that something like that has happened in the US right?

Those that want to read whatever they can want all freedoms, but have to understand they can have freedom, but it must be within the law.
12 shot dead at 'Dark Knight Rises' screening in Aurora, Colorado - U.S. News
Don't you just feel the love and heartfelt affections that emanate from a standard Whitehouse press release...In a statement, Obama said: "We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded. As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as one American family."
it's so obviously a script and in this case doesn't even fit the situation...
"We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice"...he's already in custody you muppet...
"ensuring the safety of our people"...tell that to the 14 dead and their families you cunt...
and the rest isn't even worth reading...
This is what you expect for your vote and tax dollars?...children are murdered in a social atrocity and the Prez can't even give his own words...just a copy/paste one size fits all statement...
fucking pathetic...I just watched the pre olympic USA/Dom Rep basketball game the other day and the Prez was there...the whole place goes crazy for the guy as he enters the stadium...you people are fucked...generally speaking...
Don't get it twisted I'm not against Obama in particular...I don't even acknowledge the person...it's the institution itself that's a farce...
you want proof?...I bet you can already google the dark night slaughter jokes...you know the ones about people dying to see the movie...
society worldwide is fucked up...my only suprise about shit like this is that people still get suprised by it...
