Guy, I'm sorry to say this, but you are a complete cock.
You seem to think I'm only trying to bash America. You're wrong. I'm not. I answered kingdom's question as best as i could being i don't come from a gun culture. I understand that nearly all American legal gun owners behave responsibly. I don't think all Americans own AR 15s or uzis.
Let me ask you a straight question, which you probably won't answer in the same fashion. As a responsible gun owner, do you think America should outlaw the ownership of automatic rifles like the AR 15 and machine guns like the uzi in all states? Why or why not?
The UK started with machine guns. They made ownership illegal in 1938. Banning the sale of them and outlawing the ownership of them is a start to who knows what.
Those that want to read whatever they can want all freedoms, but have to understand they can have freedom, but it must be within the law.
Unfortunately, you are trying to make the US like the UK. The US doesn't need to follow your model of gun ownership.
Despite your continued insults, I'll answer your questions. The AR15 is a semi-automatic rifle. There already are many laws banning fully-automatic rifles. And who the heck owns an Uzi anymore? If you take a fully-automatic rifle to most any gun range, they range master would throw you out in a heartbeat. Semi-automatic just means you pull the trigger, a round is fired, and another round is chambered from a magazine and ready for you to fire again. Why should semi-automatic rifles or pistols be banned? I don't see your logic, and President Obama isn't jumping on your bandwagon either.
Legal guns = massive murder rates, can't poo poo the statistics.
Well, in YOUR beloved country, there are TV detection vans and TV licensing agents who can make unannounced visits to your home to determine the number of TV sets receiving signals for the purpose of your paying an annual tax. Evasion of this tax is a criminal offense in your country. I'm quite satisfied that the US doesn't need to follow England's model of TV ownership either.
Isn't that fee to fund the BBC channels? The BBC doesnt have adverts, right? Like the American TV? So it is a subscription fee just as you'd pay your tube fee, right?
---Update---
Its only Mark who love his fellow man, sorry 'lady'.

Criminalise them? If they are owned by law-abiding citizens and made illegal, then those good 'ol boys would turn them in, right?
---Update---
If so, where does that leave the Brtish? They owned most of the world, right?
---Update---
Isn't there a funcioning system of law and order there? No police, so the responibility is passed to the populace?
---Update---
Soldiers in Oz and Britain also have similar nationalistic chants.
---Update---
the figures themselves are astounding for Brits used to around 600 murders per year. In 2010 - the latest year for which detailed statistics are available - there were 12,996 murders in the US. Of those, 8,775 were caused by firearms.
---Update---
But if it did, less people would die right?
Brits should stick to paying their telly taxes and resign themselves to the fact that they aren't a player on the world stage except as a host to Olympics. Oh, but that reality doesn't connect to the colonialist mindset that everything done the British way is the best. Oops.
Of course, the bad guys will always get their hands on guns, and the 'bad guys' group is the one that needs to be addressed.
Hillbilly stick to what you know cos you clearly know nothing about the UK. You're as thick as Russ
Daniel Bedingfield claimed that his new album is what it would sound like if Sting, Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson were in a basement together - I haven't got the album so I'll have to imagine the sound of a blind bloke and a Geordie kicking the shit out of a pedophile.
It's funny guy. You always accuse others of America bashing, while the only person throwing insults based on countries is you.
So Guy, as a law abiding, gun shooting American, how would you deal with the problem America clearly has with gun murder?
A question you asked was very pertinent, "who even owns an uzi nowadays?"
Yes, i'd like to know the answer to that. Were that all traded in? Scraped? Chances are the only people who own them are enthusiasts and criminals. Do you agree with that?
Stop banging on about the T.V licensing fees as well, it's got nothing to do with gun rampages.

Queenie's cool. I wish we had one so we could shoot her.
You neglected to include ammunition. Remember, Hitler required all German citizens to deliver both firearms and ammunition to the state.
Myself, I'm fairly certain that I'd hide mine from state agents' home raids and searches. I'd never voluntarily give up the only effective means of defending myself and others from criminals and tyrannical state agents.
