I read that they legally can't give him more years than that but to be let out he'll have to prove that he is no danger to the public and that will never happen. So it's pretty certain that he'll die in jail.

As an American I feel ashamed. We have never scored 77 with one shooter.

It's certainly not from a lack of trying.

I saw a reenactment vid of this guy's work. After he blew up a bld full of people on the mainland he got a boat, went to a touristed island and sniped a bunch more, dressed as a cop he won the confidence of the people.

He just tried to give a speech (from memory) "...to all the nationalists in Norway and Europe..." but the woman judge was having none of it.

    You'll see it later.

She probably did the nationalists a favor!

This guy is "bad for business".

An efficient killer, but totally lacking any type of political savvy....

    I agree entirely.

If someone has proven unfit to mix with mainstream society then the best thing to do is keep them out of it.

The problem nowadays is we imprison so many people for being poor or stupid rather than evil.

And that the prisons (in the UK at least) have such a lax regime that a prison sentence is hardly a punishment, in order not to upset the poor inmates and cause trouble for the screws - also easier to obtain drugs inside than it is outside gaol.

As a Norwegian who has heard all about this story the punishment does certainly not fit the crime. Something is seriously wrong with this guy if you look up more news and go into background details of why he did this. Killing innocent teenagers in the island after planting a bomb right in the middle of Oslo.

A lunatic like this, should not be allowed freedom. Its rather obvious he is a threat to society, and has shown no remorse what so ever for what he did.
