history u know that subject they teach us when we are kids
Seeing Russ's latest reply just says it all. Contradicting himself has become a regular habit. GMD, how is it possible for anyone in Canada to be better informed if they have made the choice not to? Russ is no different than he was when I first came on this board back in 2004. I was one of the few people that called him on his posts, especially about his atrocious spelling.
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

Suspect IDed in Quebec election rally shooting - Houston Chronicle
Above is the link to the latest story, which nobody bothered to provide in the midst of our arguing. Russ, who do you feel is the victim here - the shooter, who has an Anglo name and speaks French and English, the victim who was fatally shot, or the woman who is the new separatist premier?
That's a very interesting question Nat.
I would like people to watch this clip and tell us who is the victim here as well.

It made my day...
ps. Can someone please tell me how to embed a video. God I'm bad at this technical stuff.
My original comments nat were made with tongue firmly embedded in my cheek.
The story is of no interest to me. A one off. Grist for the Mill.
p.s. not saying I don't think we'll eventually find an American connection
No doubt lots of folks have ideas about where you may wish to embed it
..Sounds like quite a story there
Nuff said already,eh.........
Here's a news item that might sweeten reports of crime in Quebec.
"On Friday, news broke that thieves had stolen $30 million dollars worth of Quebec's strategic maple syrup reserves. Much as the United States keeps a stock of extra oil buried in underground salt caverns to use in case of a geopolitical emergency, the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers has been managing warehouses full of surplus sweetener since 2000. The crooks seem to have made off with more than a quarter of the province's backup supply."
Why Does Canada Have a Strategic Maple Syrup Reserve? - Jordan Weissmann - The Atlantic
“Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders; no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way for himself if society is sweeping towards destruction. . . . What is needed to stop the trend towards socialism and despotism is common sense and moral courage.” Ludwig von Mises
The picture of the suspects is hilarious
Start your maple syrup hoarding now as climate change is going to decimate this industry. But harvesting maple is a fickle business, and that makes expanding the industry tricky. The trees need cold nights and mildly warm days to yield sap, meaning production can vary greatly year to year based on the weather.

We could all sit outside on banana lounges discussing the best way to rebuild a 4WD transmission and agree, through shared stories of conquests supporting our assertions, that there is no basis to the proposition that those least assured of their persuasions are the first to condemn others for theirs.
