China Japan and Taiwan at war

BEIJING, China - Japanese and Taiwanese ships shot water cannon at each other Tuesday in the latest confrontation over tiny islands in the East China Sea, as Japan met with another rival, China, in an effort to tamp down tensions.

About 40 Taiwanese fishing boats and 12 patrol boats entered waters near the islands on Tuesday morning, briefly triggering an exchange of water cannon fire with Japanese coast guard ships. Coast guard officials said the Taiwanese vessels had ignored warnings to get out of their territory, and the Taiwanese ships pulled back after being fired upon.

Hmm--this is escalating more than I expected. I suppose America now has to swoop in and say that this kind of violence is unnecessary, all hostilities must cease, etc. The problem is China's economy is hurting so much that the government needs a way to rally their billion drones, and a war against the evil imperial Japan might be just what the Communist doctor ordered.

I could well see this turn into a bigger fight, but with America abstaining, causing intense anger in Japan. Not that Japan can do anything about it, except maybe militarize more.

    None of this is good.

Criminal Bernanke announced qe to infinity and what is American growth compared to China?

    No conspiracy here, just facts.

I hope you are smart enough to at least follow those stupid Chinese and have some of that barbaric relic.

I think you need to read up a bit on reversion to the mean.

Isn't standard of living for the average US citizen going down while the exact opposite is happening in China? Heck, even Thailand?

So true. In my 7 years of living in China, I have seen this burgeoning middle class of 100's of millions emerge, and have been to many of their homes. Car ownership now exceeds the USA, and even the poor are slowly being lifted out of their poverty.

China is still far, far, far behind America. A lot more rising on the Chinese side and a lot more falling on the American side would need to occur before they're even in the same league.

We still have blue sky. Until the Chinese can say the same, I'm not even going to start comparing them.

It's not hard to see why this is happening when you see the American students we are trying to educate. The only reason mine has gone up is because I just made the transition from McDonald's to the teaching profession. I make close to five times more a year now.
