Hugo ChavezVenezuelans voted on Sunday with President Hugo Chavez facing the biggest electoral challenge yet to his socialist rule from a young rival tapping into discontent over crime and cronyism.
Henrique Capriles, a centrist state governor, edged toward the still-popular Mr. Chavez in final polls thanks to a vigorous campaign that united the opposition and made him its best chance of ending Mr. Chavezís 14-year rule.
This one will be very closely watched by the White House.
I've always like Hugo myself.

I like that he stands up to the multinationals and gets into the rumble.
Aggravates the hell out of the yanks, eh
Anybody who can aggravate the hell out of the Whitehouse can't be entirely bad?
I liked how he shipped free heating fuel to New England for low income families.
I think he could have done something with New Orleans as well.
Not quite as easy to take Chavez out as it was Allende...that's for sure.
let's see what the voters think?
could be interesting.............
If Chavez wins I'll bet you a million to one that there will be much talk of vote fixing...
^But at least the poor unfortunates of New England won't freeze come January...
