Sorry yes 7 am to 6 pm total of 11 hours. Took a border run bus to the Cambodian Border at Poipet. Got the vias documents at the consulate. Proceeded to border. Cross. Took a tram to the Bus Station. No bus was ready. The bus was leaving in about 2 hours. Asked if anyone wanted to split the ride via taxi to SR. A guy from Finland and I shared the ride. Cost was 2000 baht then.
Roads were very rough from the border to Sisophon. (All dirt. Would be very difficult in rainy season.) From Sisophon to SR a little better but not much. They take you in Toyota Camrys about 15 years old.
Stayed at the Golden Banana GH. It is across the river from Bar Street. About 6 blocks away. Cost for the GH was $20 per night. They also had a boutique hotel for $55 a night. The Finn Tourist stayed there. I will post more pictures later.
Next day off to Temples located about 40 km northeast of SR.
My Guide through the various ruins on day one and two. I think the guide was $25 a day.
Up, Up, and Away; In My beautiful, My beautiful balloon.... (About 30 minutes before sunset.)

dude...great pics! that ballon ride, was it tide to the ground or did you float around for awhile? nice shots of the wat...
It is a high tech helium balloon. It has a steel cable that deploys (several inches in diameter). You go up; it pays out the line. You reach height. Then it retracts back. It holds maybe 30 people. It is very big. As you can see. I think there is one in Singapore just like it. I is a multimillion dollar project.
Some people Pics.
After making a thousand reals (10 baht) from me for taking their picture, the boys decide to go get coconuts to drink. So up he goes into a tree. (Not at my urging please note.)
The last day of my three day Angkor pass I used exploring the area South East of SR. It predated Angkor by several hundred years. Rholos Group is the name of the area as I recall.
After spending another few days in SR. I took the boat to Battambang. It cost 15 dollars and took about 8 hours. You pass through some excellent bird watching country. The river is also home to many fishing villages.
In Battambang I stayed in the TEO hotel which I can recommend. $10 and immaculate. Had aircon. No TV. I found the food at White Rose to be hearty and good. There was one nice bar overlooking the river.
I do recommend the bamboo train if it is still operation. (Some guy rigs a Briggs and Straton 7hp motor to a removable platform of bamboo. He sets it on two axles fit to set on the train track. He has a couple of his kids stand as lookout (to see if anything is coming from the opposite direction). When two trains meet. The one with the least stuff aboard disassembles and the other passes. Then you reassemble your train. Speeds reach 35-40 mph. Cost was $7.
I decided to come back via Pralin. You pass through the most heavily mined territory in the country. Do not leave the roadway unless clearly marked as safe. (If you need to take a wizz do it in the road.) Cost with guide and private taxi with driver was $40. The area was one of 2 major strongholds of the Khmer Rouge. (Other was Anlong Veng).
Left Battambang around 7 am. Got to border around noon on some of the roughest dirt roads I have ever traveled. (Do not try in rainy season.) Hired a pickup taxi for 1600 Baht to take me to Chantaburi. Arrived in Chantaburi around 1:30. Hired another baht bus pickup to drive me to Pattaya cost 1300 baht. Arrived Pattaya before dark.
