What's with your obsession with Coney Island? This city has so much to offer besides some crappy rides by a shitty beach.

The Brighton Beach train ride along the elevated tracks in Brooklyn is a classic. No need to be angry - I thought you lived in NYC and enjoyed cheap entertainment there. The history of Coney Island is fascinating. What's with your obsession with Thailand?

I prefer Manhattan; when I go to Brooklyn, I usually don't go south of Prospect Park (which is better than Central Park IMO).

it's the "road of a thousand curves"...a car is a waste...we're leaving the car home and taking the train up to CM... we'll use the saved gas money for bike rental...

We did it in November 2009 by car. Also visited the great sunflower fields in Mae Sariang. However, we drove even farther than that. We drove to Mae Sot along the border with Myanmar. Unforgettable trip and luckily not car sick or any other problems. Driving it by car is not for the faint-hearted. GPS is recommended. Mae Hong Song - Mae Sot is about 400 km and takes at least 8 hours.
