Probably deservedly so. Trying to explain the good points of working here to people working back home is like the Pattaya residents who are consistently trying to clean up Pattaya's image. The fact is Thailand's reputation principally rests on its "leisure" activities and that's the first thing people back home think of about here.

Possibly, but you might need it to tell others you are. Tefling in Thailand is basically charity work after a year or two. It might be "real" teaching if that means something to anyone who wants to define it like that, but it's a fool's game for more than a couple of years.

It's a line and pic from Where The Wild Things Are, one of my all time favourite books. Know it?

Looks familiar, I think I've seen it. though, not sure, so looked it up.
Quote:
Where the Wild Things Are - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The book tells the story of Max, who one evening plays around his home, "making mischief" in a wolf costume (chasing the dog with a fork, etc.). As punishment, his mother sends him to bed without supper. In his room, a mysterious, wild forest grows out of his imagination, and Max journeys to the land of the Wild Things. They are fearsome-looking monsters, but Max conquers them with a scary look and he is made the King of all Wild Things. However, he soon finds himself lonely and homesick, and he returns home to his bedroom. He finds his supper waiting for him ... "And it was still hot."

Do you have a good imagination while in your bedroom, while alone? just kidding actually I like to think that I still have a good imagination, which most of us lose as kids.

In some cases, for sure.
However the way people refer to the PGCE with something approaching reverance makes me laugh sometimes.
There are PGCE qualified idiots too.
