dunno... I refused to pay their VAT charge when I sent stuff home from Switzerland in 2006. Managed to convince them it was their fault not seeing that I'd written personal stuff, used books and goods, and journals on the slip

1500 quid plus 500 insurance and breakdown...and it came with 12 months mot and 6 month tax......bargain of the decade...cheapest car I've ever shelled out for...discovered a slightly sticky clutch, but nothing major....Kans sending pics to her sister to make her jealous....bloody fuel though....barely half a tank for 20 quid.

I've now found a library with free net access in the village...and we've just been looking at nursaries for my daughter....the bins lady is all smiles now we've got our own bins, and there will likely be a horrendous Ikea binge sometime next week...the prospect of having to find work is looming horribly.
-----
and yes it does have faux walnut trim...but I am 32...surely I'm entitled to drive a car with faux walnut trim by my time of life. It's even better now my mate has given me a tape to mini-jack convertor for iPod tune blasting fun.

looks more or less like this....

The have been living in small hotel rooms on the insurance for several months now

mumsy does not have a six figure income but a military pension, earned by my father who gave it 37 years of his life - she happens to be in that village cuz that's where the insurance companies put her when she got flooded out.

no trickle downs - I work and there's nothing to trickle anyway

London's prices? I live in Hackney

the wills and harry statement shows you are a total and complete imbecile - you've been trying this line for months and you are fucking pathetic - jumping to assumptions you hope might have a chance in a million of being true

your fucking stupid idiotic moron posts are nothing but a reflection of your character

fuck off you idiot - teacher my arse!!!!!!!!!!! - can't even pretend to be one when you lie all the time

there are sooooo fucking many people who abuse the education profession and get sooooo up themselves in the process - I could name a few more but I won't unless I get pushed, which would not be wise as one or two things I could put would be not only very very derogatory but also true

cyrille, however, doesn't care if anything's true - shit he can't even tell - can't even take care of himself, is why he lays on the working class hero shit, silly little boy

when will the world wake up and chuck these idiots into toilets they can clean which is what they should be doing? (come back and try it cyrille, it's ok hiding behind a sand dune in a place any arsehole can walk into - they can, I know - but you have as much chance of getting a job where I work as a dead dingo) and btw I pay tax, I've also paid it before. Here. I've claimed when I had to but not for long and have paid more back, quite happily still do. Cyrille's constant samey 'milking' comments are but a diversion away from his own mentality as he's obsessed with this subject - only one reason why - it's him to a t.

comments about 'mumsy's six figure income' are from someone who's lived his life with his head in a nappy - my father died of cancer after a lifetime in the air force and my mother was flooded out losing her lifetime's mementoes in the process

my sister's hubby died 2 weeks ago too, also from cancer - got some smartass comment to go with that too? She does live in that village (as a result of her own efforts, obviously not understandable to you) Come on, a wit like yours, you must have
I'm with you Grassy on every penny for your thought on that. F*** you Cyrille.

This is like Robert Heinecke kind of stuff. Dad works through two wars, and damn, that guy deserves a Silver Star no matter where he goes in the world. I didn't see no Phil nor Andrew (Biggs) [both their parents were probably NPS softies...cupcakes] in Forbes neither, so so much so far about makin' any big dough in teaching and becoming like Robert and getting into Forbes.

Good for your mother and father Grasshopper! (I'll dig this one up and go to the trouble of posting it from the "more" section of smilies...) And for all those who call war heroes of ANY allied force "assassins"...let 'em rot in hell and kiss my a**.

Yet another comment from you that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. You're either an inspired parody of a simpleton, or just a simpleton.

Oh sorry, it means, like ah..."Here's a Penny for Your Thoughts." Like something really valuable actually. It's more American than anything. Acutally the most famous presses started out as "Penny Papers."

I'll excuse you this time because you're not American.

All I know is if zehner and Grassy hate you...so do I. I don't even know why you're on this forum save for trolling everybody for a living.

Surely you must have been kicked out of Thailand or something and have some grudge against farang teachers here and Thailand in general. Nothing cultural, humble, or charitable about any of your posts.

No, it's commonly used in UK English too.

But not in the garbled way you originally put it, and even when correct it still makes no sense in the context in which you used it.

FYI, it means 'I'd like to know what you are thinking', not 'I agree with you'.

Anyway, good luck to you in moving beyond the pre-intermediate plataeu you seem to be stuck on with your English (amongst several other things, apparently.)

Just remember we're here for you, and thanks for the kind words.

The car is awesome...cheap as chips but beautiful and purrs like a kitten....has made all the difference. I'm still having to snatch internet time at the library til BT installs our landline in 2 weeks....grrrr!

We have the dual job right now of dumping all the junk my mum left at my flat with buying all the things that we didn't get left...my poor poor credit card. Chip and pin is just TOO quick and easy.

Todays mission has included a vacuum cleaner, a kiddies car seat, a laser printer, and a chest of drawers (which we bought from cheapy charity shop Family First....great piece for 20 quid.) We also had our first restaurant meal since we got here...so am absolutely stuffed.

Glad to see the place hasn't fallen apart without me!
