My mum and gran are over from Spain right now so suggested we had a day out, and being a bit of a horsey person, my mum suggested the races.
So off we went to Garthorpe, a small village just outside of Melton Mowbray.
The weather was absolutely amazing....almost as hot as Thailand it seemed at times, though without the humidity.was
We met up with some of my mum's friends and had a nice picnic.....
...while my daughter snoozed away in the sun......
She soon woke up and made the most of the facilities.
There was a pretty decent turn out, and some good racing....
Call me a wussy, but I've never been a betting man and I left it to my Mum and her friends to do all that...
...I was quite content helping to entertain my daughter, take cool macros with my camera, eat food, and drink cider (and a small glass of champagne when one of the horses came through with a win.)
One glorious day....it'd be nice to think we might be in for this kind of weather ALL summer....
Wow, that'll be, like, over a week of solid sunshine we will have had!
