This is what we were hoping for. We'd spend her salary and save mine....which I think would be possible with the housing allowance that is included in most of the packages I've been looking at.

If it is the Beach in Pusan, nice. Usually spelled with a W before the oon or Haeundae Beach.Click the image to open in full size.

Not a thai beach. Urban. About the best Urban Beach area of S. Korea. I used to go there often. Pusan aka Busan is a nice city. Has 2 subway routes. About 3-4 million people. I lived in the hills about 15k from this beach. Has a Sheraton Hotel on the Beach. Losts of Sea Food Restuaunts but much more expensive than Thailand. Pusan itself is nice. There is a very interesting Downtown pedestrian walk area. Not a lot of expats in PUSAN. Mostly teachers, Sailors, professors. I enjoyed it. For cities I feel Pusan is the Best in SK. There are some nice Buddists cites on the hills. There is a nice hot springs. The bullet train is quick and runs to the city center.

Good luckClick the image to open in full size.It ain't Thailand.

As housing in Pusan is very expensive make sure you have a suitable housing situation before signing on the dotted line.

Re: Seriously considering a move to Korea.....

Haeundae is okay for an urban beach. It's also easy to get to the rest of the city via subway or bus.

T2, if it's a job offer, PM me and I might be able to serve up a little more info for you. I'm actually planning on going to Haeundae tomorrow to visit the aquarium and check out the expat sailing club that's there.

Re: Seriously considering a move to Korea.....

I got an e-mail from a good friend yesterday saying that you can now get 3-6 month contracts legally without a degree? New president or something? Anyone??? Not wicked pay, but not bad!

Re: Seriously considering a move to Korea.....

KK sorta true, they are trying to implement a policy of getting folk who are DOING a degree to come out to Korea for a short time. They will, of course, pay them less and abuse them, but it is a policy which they are trying to push through. We may shortly be awash with 20 year old frat boys taking 6 months out to get more cash to party in college. And they want to raise the standards.....
