Seoul - A Korean ajarn night out
On the back of the popular Bangkok night out for ajarners, can I suggest a night out for Korean Ajarners? I actually have an ulterior motive, I am heading to Seoul for the first time and don't know my way around. Does anyone want to show me around for an evening in the first week in August? Perhaps there is a bunch of Ajarn ex-pats out there who are up for a drink of the old carrakju? Anyone up for it? If not then I will just stumble around Itaewon shouting random mad cow obscenities in Thai.

Re: Seoul - A Korean ajarn night out
I wouldn't mind a meet-up goo, if it doesn't become too large of a group...(I've got this uncomfy-crowd fear thing goin')....and I can't handle dance clubs or a full night in Itaewon (eve. ok)

Re: Seoul - A Korean ajarn night out
Jimbo, that would be cool. I don't think we could gather a large crowd anyways. If there is a better place than Itaewon then let me know - I really haven't been to Seoul and don't know anywhere.
We can arrange a date time and place later, I know I am going in the first week of August, just not exactly sure yet. I will keep you posted.
Anyone else up for joining our (small) happy throng?

Everywhere in Seoul is a better place than Itaewon
but it is "something" to behold I suppose.
You flying out after??

Re: Seoul - A Korean ajarn night out
Nah, I am staying until the end of August, just getting the visa sorted in my break. I am flying out of Pusan. I wanna hang out in Seoul for a few days, get my visa, take in a DMZ tour and see the nightlife. I am open to all and any suggestions on the nightlife side.

Re: Seoul - A Korean ajarn night out
Have fun in Seoul, Goo. I am not there presently, but if I was, I'd show you around, as I know the city like the back of my hand.
If you want to get out of the foreigner district of Itaewon..I'd suggest Hongdae area to explore. The bars are better, and you get a mix of people. Will you be teaching in Seoul or Busan?

^ He's lived and taught in Korea for quite awhile....just not spent time in Seoul. He's moving back to Thai after time spent in Ulsan (I believe) towards the end of Aug.

Sorry, goo, I won't be in the Land of the Morning Calm from July 21 to August 25. But if you're gonna be in Pusan after the 25th for a day or two maybe we could hook up.

Re: Seoul - A Korean ajarn night out
I am ashamed to admit that I have been in Korea for exactly 1 year and I haven't been to Seoul yet (other than landing in Incheon and transferring to Gimpho). I will be going to Seoul for the first time to get my Thai visa in August. I am leaving Korea at the end of August.
MisterStretch, thanks for the offer but I won't be in Pusan again until the day I fly out.
Jimbo, I will drop you a PM nearer the time to see if we can meet up somewhere.
Anyone else for an Ajarner Seoul night out in early August?

Re: Seoul - A Korean ajarn night out
^You haven't been to Seoul! Shame on you!! hehe.
Enjoy! I may be there by then. Still waiting on the exact date in August. I hope you had a good experience in Korea, unlike many others on this board.
