Which airline for cheap Visa run flights?

Hey all,

I was under the impression that visa runs weren't super pricey. However, I'm finding that roundtrip flights from Seoul to Tokyo are 600-700 US dollars! This can't be right! Please tell me that there's another way? I've been looking at Korean Air... Thanks much!

The Beetle from Busan to Fukuoka looks the best bet: Beetle English

There are cheaper Ferry options as well.

I think the ferry is your cheapest option, but if you don't have the time, then flying would be best. Unfortunately, it is not cheap to go to Japan from Korea.

Check with a travel agent to get varying fares. Or alternatively,

Thanks for the rec! Time isn't a concern as it's for my boyfriend who's coming with me to Korea. We've got him a repeat entry visa; but, you know, every 90 days...

Anyway, I just had it in my head that because the two countries were so close it would be cheaper and was sure I was doing something wrong!

Thanks again

Welcome to the new age of airline price hikes.....based on the fuel market that Bushee has laid out for us.

Best of luck.

Re: Which airline for cheap Visa run flights?

Autumn, I concur about taking the ferry from Busan to Fukoaka. You can catch an express train from Seoul (or take the bus) to Pusan, then catch the subway to a station near the pier.

The ferry is pretty inexpensive, there are always taxis at the pier in Fukoaka to take you to the Korean embassy. You file your paperwork one day (before 1:00 if I remember correctly) and can pick it up the next morning.
