May have a job lined up there & was thinking where would it be best to have the salary paid?
I've heard UK are clamping down on incoming salaries that are tax free and applying their own taxes...
Where could I put my tax free salary and keep it tax free?! I don't really like keeping a lotta $ under my mattress either before some smart arse says so![]()

Panamá, Singapore, Switzerland, Cayman Islands...seems as if there are heaps of places to secure your money. My thinking is that one should keep their money as far away from the taxing authority as they reasonably can.

Most of the Brits I know voluntarily send half of their income back to blighty to shore up the NHS and other welfare services. Social justice, social responsibility, and an advanced sense of fairness you know.

Local account - yup ok.... thats 1 way I suppose..Just hope opening an account there isn't like opening one in Thailand...
far away from taxin authority is my idea too
cause they'll catch on & start taxing it
there is Saudi - nout wrong with their banks...as far as I know
advanced fairness - sounds terrible to me... I'll keep up my NI and thats it. If I'm not in the country using any services, I'm not paying for them...simple as!
anywayz thanks for your replies... out of curiosity, if I were to have my salary payed into a Thai bank, would that be subjected to any kind of tax reduction?
^ Talk to the poster "Chang" about international tax treaties..... where for 2 years you can get 100% of your tax back I know Thailand is a signatory with the USA , Australia and the UK maybe Middle eastern countries are too.
Here is a list of countries with agreements with Thailand.

The last time I checked with the UK tax office, unless the work is being done in the UK then it's not taxable in the UK (even if you receive payment to a UK bank account). Of course, any interest earned on the bank balance would be taxable in the UK.
Has the situation changed and if so do you have a link?

...my experience may not be relevant: my Saudi salary was deposited into a Saudi bank. From there, I used the ATM to send the bulk to the States (tax-free salary) and a small portion to my account in LOS as a vacation hedge against currency fluctuations...no taxes paid at either location...
...majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd...
thx refuse...I'll check over that link when I have a little more time...
sending funds internationally over an atm tom? didnt even know this was possible...lol...
do you know if that would be one of the cheaper ways to send funds to another account abroad?
...once the transfers are set up with your local Saudi bank, sending your money where you want it is as simple as a stroll to the nearest ATM...it was certainly cheaper (and far more convenient) than going into the bank, filling out a transfer form, taking a number, paying the transfer fee, and waiting for the bank to send the funds (possibly at their leisure)...
