Just wondering about the pay versus cost of living.
Does anyone have any insight into the working conditions and market?
Should I even consider it, or are there too few decent jobs available to make it worth it?
Thanks in advance.
The only jobs I've seen were for badly paid cultural training for call centre workers (I guess things like who the main characters in Eastenders are, what's worth knowing about Hull, etc - if you're American, I'm sure there's similar) but for straightforward EFL, I'd be surprised if there's any market at all; India has a fantastically well-educated middle class who are more than capable of teaching English. If anything, in fact, I would expect things to go in the opposite direction.
As much as I'd love to teach English there, this is what I had envisioned... oh well.
Thanks.
