Can teaching in thailand lead to teaching in America/Japan?

There are good wages, cheap transport, decent (enough :sad: ) food here...plus pussy, booze, high-speed internet, nice accomadations, etc. The location is also great for some people as it's midway between the west coast of North America (9-10 hours) and most of southeast asia and India (5-7 hours)...

But again...if you don't have the cash or the vacation time...your quality of life will decrease.

It's a very difficult question to answer.

Maybe I can sum it up though;

Korea is generally very grim. But it can be very good.

Well, maybe some slightly relevant stuff is missing, so this thread may not always be continuous. But if somebody (not you, kenk) keeps ending their otherwise fairly relevant post with curse words and insane rants, the mods can't be wasting time editing this one here and that one there. If something fairly relevant was in among the crap, that's the poster's fault.

Also, when one ranting insane cursing post is deleted, often the response to it goes as well.

Why not close the entire thread? Would that be like the teacher punishing all the students in one corner of the room because several of them are misbehaving?

As Unwell said, he could just as well have removed some of the borderline posts in this thread, and that's what I did, along with the new trash.

Sorry I haven't posted on this thread in a while, I stopped receiving new message updates, I didn't realize there were so many posts. I had a lot of catching up to do.

I decided that since my savings isn't what it was three months ago and I have a girlfriend, I should just stay here for a bit. The agency kept calling me and I said I didn't like the length of the contract much. She then offered me a 9.5 month contract. So I thought, "what the heck?" It can't hurt me. I'm not guessing it'll makes a night and day difference, but it'll probably be a good start for me. I'll save money by not having to do visa runs. I also plan to keep my private students who are from Japan. They also own a language school so maybe I could use them as connections. They actually wanted me to teach English at their school in the future when they had an English program. I won't be able to do that now, but it was an option.

I think right now I'm more interested in Japan than Korea. I hear a lot of cool things about Japan from many different people.

The thing I'm interested in is the TESL course they gov school will be giving me. I've heard of scams before so hopefully this won't be one of them.
