Typical time to process a citizenship application

How long has it taken your partner to get their citizenship sorted? Been about 10 weeks so far but not heard a thing. Why they need to take and keep my passport is beyond me. I feel like I am on bail for marrying a foreigner as I can't leave the country without it!

    Hi Wildbill

My wife's citizenship application took just over two months. It culminated in going to a ceremony in Bolton where she was given a certificate confirming Naturalisation.

There are probably some service standards re timescales for all of this on the UKBA website.
